Our Story

Hi, I’m Sam, and I’m thrilled to welcome you to ezehay! This all started from two unexpected challenges in my life, and, as it turns out, those challenges led to something truly special. First, I found myself dealing with a stubborn arm injury. If you’ve ever cared for horses, you’ll know exactly why the doctor’s suggestion of "complete rest for 12 weeks" seemed laughable. I’ve got two horses to care for, and that responsibility doesn’t just stop for an injury!

At the same time, I had just brought home my new horse, Thomas, who needed far more hay than my previous pony. That meant more haynets to fill, more lifting, and more pressure on my injured arm. To make things worse, filling haynets was the chore I dreaded most—it’s something most of us horse owners can relate to!

I tried everything to make it easier. Haybags? Nope. Hayracks? I couldn’t reach. Bigger haynets? They were too heavy. I was stuck, frustrated, and desperate for a better way to feed my horses without wasting hay or hurting myself in the process.

That’s when the idea for ezehay was born.

I thought, "Why can’t we have something that keeps the benefits of a slow-feeding net, but doesn’t involve all the bending, lifting, and tying haynets to high rings?" I turned to my dad, Jim, who’s an engineer. Little did he know, helping me would turn into a full-blown project. We both became obsessed with finding a solution that worked!

We spent months designing and testing different ideas. The goal? To make feeding easier, quicker, and more efficient—while keeping the hay off the ground and reducing waste.

The result is ezehay—a feeder that’s simple to use and built to last.

Thomas was our first gentle tester. He patiently tried out every design we came up with, helping us figure out what worked best. But Toby—oh, Toby! He’s been with me for 20 years and if any horse could break something, it’s him. Cheeky, bold, and determined, he’s been our Chief Tester. Toby’s the reason we know ezehay can stand up to even the most inquisitive, strong-willed horses!

Now, we’ve created a product that makes your life so much easier. With ezehay, you have two options: a normal feed net and a slow feed net, both soft on your horse’s mouth and comfortable for them to eat from. The frame is built from stainless steel and galvanised materials, making it tough enough to withstand daily use.

The best part? You’ll save time and effort. Feeding your horses with ezehay is up to four times faster than filling traditional haynets. No more heavy lifting, no more wasted hay, and no more stress.

I created ezehay with horse owners like you in mind. It’s about making life easier for us, and more comfortable for our horses. Welcome to the future of feeding—faster, simpler, and designed with you and your horse at heart.
